Biotar of the ancestor is a famous lens that Helios copies from, specs and descriptions are similar.
However, it is also famous for its bad compatibility with the mount depending on the model, so it is also a lens that requires attention.

I thought about making a nostalgic atmosphere by opening the aperture but it seems that the exposure was a bit strong.
I like feeling toward saturation of the highlight part.

Focusing on the wall, it may be that the theme’s flower is actually blurred in reverse.

It is contrast between standard blur and subject, but texture may be like film.

When taking pictures inside the room, it is difficult to focus because the exposure is insufficient and the aperture is often close to opening.
Especially, it became clear that the lens which has the margin for the release value is more likely to be like this.

Biotar 58mm and the city

Mount incompatible Biotar

In the above-mentioned silver model of the previous term, there is considerable bias in compatibility with mounts, and infinity often does not come out.
The protrusion at the interface with the camera is a problem.

I checked with the actual machine of the digital camera, but it was okay with SONY E mount, FUJI X mount, Canon EF pin mount without mount.

Nonetheless, some SONY E mounts did not come out at infinity depending on the mount manufacturer. So it is suitable for advanced people as an old lens.

Biotar 58mm used this time

That’s why if you try Biotar, it’s easy to model with a pin behind the lens like the model in the picture above.

If you arrange two, you can see the difference big by looking big at the bottom cover.
Individually, it is difficult to understand the difference, so it is difficult to judge, so I can not recommend it for beginners.

What I thought this time

I wrote last time as well, but if you are a film, I do not know the taste and strength of the lens unless you see what it has raised, so I want to take another one.

Camera

The camera is Praktica MTL 5 made by Pentacon, fourth generation in 1983.
It is in good condition. I will make it a main camera for a while.
Film is Fujifilm's standard ISO 100 36shots.
